HD 5870 Issues. Help appreciated

Hey all

I have a couple of issues/questions regarding my XFX HD 5870.

A month ago the fan died, it started making weird noise so I decided to buy a Ac Twin Turbo Pro. I followed the installation guide properly and hooked up the new cooler on the card, it runs great and the temps are nice. But here is the first of my problems, I can no longer adjust the fan speed of the new cooler on the card. I have tried searching for solutions but with no luck, also I suspect the fan monitoring that displays RPM of the fan is wrong. No matter if I set it to 20% or 100% still same temps and no differences in sound coming from the cooler. The cooler does however work and both of the fans are spinning of course.

The second issues I have been having with my card is adjusting the Volt for overclocking. No matter what I do the MSI Monitoring will display a value of 1.149V on the card. I have tried flashing different BIOS to the card with different Volt values for 3d mode etc, also adjusting the Volt with MSI Afterburner after unlocking voltage control and no matter where I slide the bar it will still remain at 1.149V even while gaming. This is annoying because if I try to OC the card beyond 900/1250 I usually get screen freeze followed by "driver has stopped working". I suspect this to be due to the card not being able to get more than 1.149V

The card I have is a XFX HD 5870 1GB and im 99% sure its a reference card so it should allow voltage adjustments.

Has anyone experienced similar issues?
 
Had some weird crap with mine not long ago. I had voltage and Fan control issues also. Whats really odd is I launched GPU-Z to take a look at things and the fans started to control properly and the Voltage works as well. I thought it was a force voltage setting in afterburner I used but as soon as I launched GPU-Z the fans sped up to what I had them set at. Really weird. I was running 11.2 and 11.4 drivers. This was with a 6970. No idea why GPU-Z would have any effect on this....
