Guys if Haswell isn't a big of a upgrade over my 2600k I'm thinking I would like to go to a 6 core Intel CPU but I need a Motherboard that is going to be Pci express 3.0 and have 3 lanes at 16x with all 3 of my NVidia Gtx 780s, what are my options? Thanks guys.

X79 and SandyBridge-E. But technically Nvidia does not support PCI-E on x79. There is a hack to get it to work but it is up to you if you want to do it. You could wait until IvyBridge-E which comes out in September which will have true PCI-E 3.0 16x. I am going to wait and upgrade to Ivy-E.

Go for SB-E if you want a 6 core that'll last you even a lot longer than it has already been out for. IB-E is right around the corner and there were rumors months ago about Xeon chips being 10-12 cores and them disabling some for 6-8 core parts for the E version, but nobody knows for sure. Can't see Haswell-E being worth it unless it supports DDR4 and even then that is a long wait given IB-E is coming out at the end of the year.

I say pass on Haswell for a 6 core part.

Liger youre right, Just gonna put this $600 aside and keep saving until the end of the year and go with something more [H] ard
