Has WCing gone mainstream?

It seems that WCing has begun to find itself in the higher end of systems (Maingear F131 (AMD64 FX-55), Gamer x64 (Pentium D 840 Extreme), Gamer Ultra XLC (AMD64 FX-57)).

Perhaps a wave of new WC components will come with the stream

Don't hold your breath...... It takes years for us to see new stuff, that is worth money.

WC is more prevelent with people who like to push their systems far or demand silent operation.

But with WCing coming stock on systems, we might begin to see more companies on the market and more competitive pricing. Either way, the consumer wins

If intel didn't make the 180 they did at IDF recently then in a year or two the stock Intel heatsink would have been a watercooling system similar to something like the CoolerMaster Aquagate system. In fact, Intel was seriously looking into watercooling since their Prescott is one b*tch to cool, and Tejas would have been even worse.

I like the idea of watercooling becoming cheaper because of companies having price wars, but I personaly don't think it a good idea to market W/C to those who have no clue on how to care for it.. I mean look at some of the heatsinks people in the comp repair buisness have to deal with, aparently cleaning and computer don't go together for alot of people...

Haha that isn't the half of it. There was a thead on Gen Hardware(?) awhile ago of some kid who had taken in a computer to get serviced because it wasn't working.....the moron had affixed the heatsink to the processor with velcro....velcro! The stock retainer had proken so he put some velco on the IHS and some velcro on the bottom of the heatsink...voila! *sigh*

No kidding, I've had people that let their computers get so dusty internally that the fan portion of the HSF had seized up and the HS was so caked up it was useless. I don't even want to know what would happen if one of these people had to refill a res or, for love of all that's holy, change a waterblock.

I have 10 20oz bottles of mountain dew sitting in my refridgerator right now.

(Xbox360 given away every 10 minutes + meal plan + mountain dew in dining hall + two college students = 20 mountain dew purchased in a week)


PS : I have not been much of a soda drinker lately, and even less so caffeine...let me just say that first mountain dew I drank kept me wide awake for 8 hours

Strawberry thoda is a close 2nd.
