has my memory gone bad?

alright. i 've got a huge problem. when i run nero or dvd decrypter my computer will restart. they used to be able to run fine and i would not any have problems and i have not tweaked or played aroudn my memory since then . i now watch my memory sky rocket with cacheman and rambooster. it will reach 505mb of my 512mb and then it will restart.

i tried to ask my dad if it was a memory problem and he said no, but i have no clue what it is. could anyone help me?
 
i tried memtest86 and it got to test #2 i think and nothing was looking active so i left it there for 5min and still nothing happened. can you help me with that.
 
alright i tried memtest for

1225 cycles
3400% coverage

and i got 0 errors, but why does my ram sky rocket when i run things these progs that i used to run safely, but now it just restarts on itself? how can nero by itself use 512mb of ram?
