Hey guys, I'm thinking of upgrading to a new A64 setup and would like to have to replace the least amount of "stuff" as possible. What do you recommend?

My current config is:

DFI Lanparty NForce2 Ultra B
Athlon XP 2800+ on a ZALMAN CNPS7000A-CU hsf
1 Gig (2 x 512 MB) Corsair XMS PC3200
Radeon 9800 Pro (Stock Built by ATI)
Soundblaster Audigy LS
Two 80GB Maxtor 6Y080MO SATA HD's
Rosewill C523216 CDRW/DVD
450W Allied AL-B450E PSU
ZALMAN ZM-MFC1 Fan controller

I'd like to spend the least amount possible :) (Don't we all) to get a decent A64 gaming rig on air. Uber 1337 performance isn't required, just at least a few year's survivability and maybe a road for possible upgrades.

BTW OCing is not required...maybe to keep up in the future.

Well, after doing some research, this is the comp I put together...

ABIT AV8
Athlon 64 3000+ OEM with AS5 on the Zalman cooler I own

Keep old stuff:

Total cost of upgrades from newegg.com: $283

Any comments before I buy?
 
If you're not OCing, just go with the retail A64. It comes with a decent stock cooler, which it'll save you $10-$30 from buying a aftermarket.

While the stock HS does it's job well, the Thermalright XP-90 does it even better, while being much quieter than the stock version.

You can't do better then Thermalright's XP-90 for your setup, you just can't. If you can't wait for the Egg to get them in stock...I can easily recommend Jab-tech. They get the job done, and do it well.
