Hows this for a noob question?
I recently purchased a seagate 100gb harddrive to replace the 60gb in my laptop, now it somehow got formatted to 55gb, and I am stuck.
If i reformat it, or repartition, or anything it returns to 55 gb, and I cannot do anything to change it. This includes trying within an exsternalo sata enclosure, within my laptop and desktop.
I have played around with seatgates downloadable tools and partition manager with no luck, any ideas?
thanks

You could try the downloadable GParted LiveCD to extend that partition or create a new, 100GB partition.
