hey i have a referbushed 20gb from WD its a wdc wd200bb-00cja0. and i use this as my main C: drive. today i was unziping big files (around 600MB) and my case door was open so i touched the bottem of the harddrive. it was burning hott. and then i touched my other 2 RETAIL harddrives and they are not so hott. i shut down my computer 30min later i turn on my computer, let it run for 1hour idle, and i touch the hd, its still hott. wtf??? why is my C: harddrive soo hott and my other SAME harddrives not hott?
is it because it is a refurbushed harddrive??

BTW: i didnt buy the refurbushed harddrive, when i RMAed my orginal 20gb to WD, they sent me a refurbushed

I would guess the older hdd requires more power and makes more heat then the newer drives. And probably has more platters even... Could always toss it in a hard drive cooler that goes in your cdrom bays, that has some fans blowing over it.

What are the temps?

I think you just need more airspace in between the drives and if it really concerns you, add some fans or a hdcooler

i cant tell the temps on this harddrive. but i have used the temp sensor thing on my case and it reports around 88*F. is this bad or good?
