How hot is too hot for a hard drive? I just realized that some hard drives get very hot. But how hot is too hot??

I am trying that freeware "speedfan" and it seems that my main WD250GB Caviar drive is running hot according to the software. Its steady at 62 Celsius, with a red ligh on it, and when i load the pc with writing and reading can go all the way up to 70.

The rest of the drives show green light with temperatures under 50 degrees. Is my drive about to go bad ???

I guess, just some input from some of your machines would help me compare to my harddrive thatis running hot
 
imo that is way too hot. do you have air circulating around that drive? i have 3 hdds in my case, 1 74 gig raptor, 1 250 gig maxtor, and 1 300 gig maxtor. my raptor stays around 32C, while the two maxtors are around 35C.
 
UPDATE:

i put enough BIG fans properly placed to know that i am cycling at least 80CFM trhu that case..... The temperature on the WD Caviar drive dropped to 46 on standby, and the secondady Seagate to 28..... also my CPU temprature noticed a decrease on temp


two BUS temp are steady on 25.....is jsut my WD drive that worries me, i had no clue it was running above 65-70 all this time, so 46 is not as bad now, still want it lower though.....can anybody suggest something
 
WD 250GB...Is it a WD2500KS? Some WD2500KS have a bug that reports temperatures higher than they actually are.
 
yes, it actualy is a 2500KS - 00MJB0........so its just a sensor??? i am for real wondering about this thing....

anything i can do about fixing it?
 
Touch the WD HD and compare it to the Seagate HD. Temp wise. My drives..7 of them around between 25 and 35 C with 80mm/120mm fans. :p
