Hard Drive Suggestion

Hey guys, I'm getting a A8V deluxe and I was wondering what hard drive would be sufficient for me. I play games but I probably wont need one over 200gb. Any help is greatly appreciated. One more thing...would i be able to use ATA-150?...Thanks
 
ATA-150 is SATA and yes you will be able to use it with an A8V deluxe.

Just pick a good 200GB drive at the right price from the following brand names: Western Digital, Seagate, Hitachi, Maxtor, Samsung.
 
ok, basically how are you going to use the system? Are you going to need monster space for movies/music/games? Doing stuff like cad/cam or video editing? IF not get a 7200 rpm drive - my suggestion is seagate as they are quieter and come with a 5 year warranty - WD, Maxtor, Hitatchi (formerly IBM) etc. only have 1 year warranties - prices are nearly the same. 200gb might be a touch over kill, a smaller drive may suffice.
Also, watch for rebates as drive manufacturers give them periodically. In reality, you prolly don't need SATA drives, however, get them anyway, as the PATA drives are being phased out.
If you are doing high end workstation stuff - then perhaps a glance at the raptor series from Western Digital - but I doubt you will need those (unless you want braging rights)

Most all OEM WD, Maxtor, and Hitachi drives carry a 3-year warranty. Its the retail versions that carry a 1-year warranty.

I dont think he needs a raptor. A regular 7200rpm drive will suffice and the larger storage space is far more important.
