Hard Drive Problem

I have a problem with one of my hard drives and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what I should do.

Here it goes:
I have a 160GB Western Digital drive broken into 4 partitions. I have about 30GB of music on one partition (E). When I booted the computer, Windows ran the chkdisk utility and started correcting some problems. Prior to that, I had no problems whatsoever with the drive. Well after chkdisk finished, a bunch of my music files won't open and some RAR and ZIP files I have on another partition (F) seem to be corrupted and won't open.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do????

that's happened to me before and I never could recover it :mad: I lost a lot of data, priceless data.

ANy one tahat could recover this would be nice!
 
same thing as mamma to say here, basically. i had a bunch of stuff on a drive, it started to die, copied stuff off and it didn't work any more.

now go buy a backup device.
 
Well I am not sure about your exact problem. But I can tell you then...I believe it is WinRar that has a function called "Repair" which searches/scans the .rar file for missing segments or some deal and fills them in. Useful function as I have had corrupted Rar files before, used the feature and they worked. I am also sure there are repair utilities out there for compressed zipped files.
