Hard drive error codes WD 10 gig

I desperatly need a few small capacity drives, a 10 gig drive would be perfect. So, I got one from a friend, to test. It hasn't been working, so he offered to sell it to me for $10 if I can get it functional.

I ran DLGDIAG 4.15 on this drive, and after running the extended test, I got the error '0458'. The Data Lifeguard utility is listing this drive's firmware as 15.5m.

Anything to help would be appreciated.

"458 - IDNF 10+ - Identified Data Not Found. Ten or more instances of information on data positioning and location could not be found. Drive should be replaced."

Thank you. I did numerous google searches for this, but nothing turned up oddly enough.
