I had a question about my hardrive. Im currently using a maxtor 60 gig HD. Its been acting kinda awkward latley. Sometimes ill move around my desktop icons and then when i restart my comp they will go back to their original place. Also i noticed that when my comp boots up, im makes like a......tck....tck. I have read that....thats no good. I tried to put a diff HD in there but all it did was give me like an error i forget what it was. This was some weeks ago. So i dunno what to do. Any suggestions? Thanks

the icons not staying isn't a symptom of a bad hard drive.
The tick tick could be the hard drive, but it could also be a fan or power supply.
Maybe you should have a nerdy friend take a look or get it serviced by a computer shop.

You could try going to the hard drive manufacturer's website to see if there are drive-specific diagnostic software available for it. These are usually free and work only on the company's drives. Other than that, nerdy friends are your best bet, they are easily bribed with starbucks, jolt cola, and thai food. 
Well i do seem to have a nerdy friend who actually suprisingly is bribed with starbucks, im a bit of a nerd myself, were what you call cool nerds, were married and love comps...wurd. Anywho. him and i bot th know my comp is old and falling apart. I just need a 2nd opinion. So. Turns out i have to get me a new hard drive now. THX GUYS! ttyl.
