i have two hdds, both ata133, one is a maxtor 160gb, the other a seagate barricuda 60gb. Recently, when I turn on my computer, I can hear one of these drives spool up with an awful ...moaning sort of sound. Sometimes it sounds like the drive is going to blow up, it's so intense, and other times it just kind of sits at a "normal" sounding kind of speed, with a kind of hi-low pattern to it. What could be the cause of this problem, and what are some solutions. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey long ago I had that problem. When I first turned my computer on, it'd make that whirling sound, like it's going so fast it's going to shoot out and kill someone. Not too long after my harddrive died. So..... start backing up your harddrive.

Disclaimer: I am a computer noob, I didn't know how to get help. So there's a possibility you can still be saved.
