Putting this in general hardware because it's a general question about computers...

I realize Hackintosh systems are strange and have compatibility issues, but:

I purchased a Syba Firewire 800/400 card (SD-PEX-FWD) for my build, and it doesn't work - it doesn't even power my devices I plug in.

I'm using a Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 motherboard for my build. In the Mac system profiler, it doesn't show any PCIe device plugged in except my graphics card.

I've tried an external firewire 800, an external firewire 400 drive, and an Apogee Duet (FW400), no dice. Thing is, the externals don't even power - let alone show up on my desktop.

Does this mean the card was DOA?

Sorry, hackintosh discussion isn't allowed.
