ASUS PA246Q Monitor blanks on HDMI

I am using an ASUS PA246Q with a GeForce 105M from my laptop. I connect the monitor through HDMI at maximum resolution i.e. 1920x1200@60Hz. The problem is that the monitor blanks randomly for a second or two them comes back again. These are more like panel blinks. I am using an AmazonBasics 2 meter HDMI cable. With a 3 meter cable the monitor seems to blink more frequently. What might be the problem? Please help. Thanks.
 
I have been using VGA since about three days, and I haven't seen any blanking. What could be the problem with HDMI?

I actually have that too on my PA246Q. I didnt think anyone else had this problem. I tried DisplayPort first, wasnt too happy. Tried HDMI next and got screen blinking every 30 or so minutes. Sitting with DVI right now, will probably switch back to displayport eventually. I use a Radeon 5870 + Windows Vista 64bit.
 
What's your problem with DisplayPort? DisplayPort is the only option I can't try. I don't have any graphics card with DP outputs. As I said before VGA is fine. I am using VGA and I haven't seen any blinks ever! I tried HDMI and DVI on another computer and I din't observe any blinks during the experiment. One other thing I tried with HDMI was to reduce the refresh rate manually from 60 Hz to 59 Hz. Didn't observe any blinks with HDMI at 1920x1200@59Hz either. So I think 1920x1200@60Hz might be near the bandwidth limit for single link HDMI. That's what the GeForce 105M supports.
 
I thought I might have had input lag or whatever. I was also looking to see if I could get deep color on any of connections. Realized it was vistas fault and after calibration was too lazy to switch it back. Will switch it back soon though.
 
Have you tried a different hdmi cable then the two you tried? My tv would do that and it turned out to be the cable. Although 2 bad cables seems unlikely.
