I have two grey horizontal lines running across my screen, basically ones at the top and the other is at the bottom. I just built my pc last week and everything is brand new. If anyone can advise as to what the problem might be it would be helpful.

Thank you. :)

You wouldn't be referring to the two horizontal lines that always accompany an Aperture Grille CRT monitor would you? Aperture Grille monitors have two black lines that run horizontally about 1/3 from the top and bottom.

lookin at his sig,
i'm guessin that's it.
it's normal. i'm surprised that your monitor didn't come with the warning.
because when i got my trintron it came with this big old poster of how there are two lines
and that their normal, and not to call tech support or w/e.
