I have a BFGtech 7800GT OC that I just recently fitted with an AquaXtreme MP-1. I also ordered some Swiftech MC-14 copper ramsinks. However, there isn't enough clearance between the two memory chips directly below my gpu block's barbs to put ramsinks on.

Would it be safe to leave those uncooled? Or should I buy a couple-lower profile ramsinks? Help me out folks!

just trim the heatsinks.
i used regular old wire cutters to trim mine. its soft copper so they trim pretty easily...

u can see how much i trimmed mine at the bottom of this pic...

My question is...is it absolutely necessary to attach a copper ram sink to those two? There will be airflow over my graphics card as well...
