I was running XP SP2 with my ATI 4850 ... and was getting 1880 PPD.

I just got done installing Vista Ultimate x86 and now i am running at 1630 PPD ...

Over the last three work units ... PPD is +250 in favor of the XP machine ...

Running 8.6 driver

Any ideas?

I've been racking my brain for the last couple of hours trying to figure out what the problem might be..... and I got nothing man....

If I can come up with anything I'll let you know....

Please update in the A.M. and let us know if anything changes.

Check the gpu clocks. It might be possible that the driver is setting the speeds differently...

According to MHouston (ATI F@H ) .. it is a known issue.

It seems the nVidia team found a way to lower the CPU usage, but ATI is still working on it.

At the moment, XP is better for the ATI client ....

This kinda sucks, because I just orderd Vista Home Premium x64 for my main rig + 4GB more ram (6GB total) .... but we shall see

But I do think that they will figure out Vista over fixing XP cpu usage ...
