GPU load and Crossfire / SLI

Hey folks, quick question about Crossfire gpu load distribution.

Given: I have one AMD card that loads GPU @ 100% most of the time in game XYZ.

if i had two of the same video card in crossfire, with a 'proper' crossfire profile for that game, is the load distributed between the two cards? is each card working less (ie: will not be at 100% load all the time) and thus will generate less heat ?

If it is all working correctly they should both be at 100%, thus increasing your performance.
