Running the GPU Client on my 1950XTXfor about 3 months

Starting last week, it seems to shut down randomly.

I also noticed it closes when any tpe of screen adjustment is made (IE Resolution change, background change .. ect )
Card is water cooled so I don't think heat is the problem.

Do I need to update drivers or reinstall client?

Any ideas?

Which drivers are you running right now for it? Are you running the newer 6.0 beta client? The GPU client has always been a little flakey when it comes to video changes.

Install the latest drivers, latest DX version and the latest client and see if it improves anything.

I think I am running driver 7.10 cataylist. (not home so can't verify)

Using GPU 5.91 beta 6
Been running fine for over 2 months .... then one day ... just started random closing

I wouldn't go any further then the 7.11 Cats, those are the last tested to work. There are people on the official forums saying the 8.1s are working.

Sounds like a hardware problem, but since I've been using it only for about a week or so, I'm no expert on troubleshooting the GPU client. Best thing to try is reinstall everything I mentioned in my previous post. That way way you can effectively rule out a software-related issue - for the most part. Once that has been done, look possibly towards a PSU issue. These cards like a lot of power and your PSU might be starting to get a little unreliable.

I believe I have the latest drivers installed on my system, but I chose the option to install only drivers, no additional software. My GPU machine is a dedicated folder.

I am hoping that if I update the drivers and reinstall it will solve the problem.
Also will update from 5.91 to 6.00 beta ...
PSU is about 2 months old so i am not thinking that is the issue.

Just odd it started occuring last week , but had no problems the last few months

I hope it will be an easy fix with updated client and drivers.

What brand and power rating? Do you have other power hungry components?

Did you make any recent significant hardware or software changes?

No Hardware Changes

PSU is Corsair 620

The only thing I have been doing lately is disabling my third monitor's desktop on my system so i could config my new diskless folding systems.
I have not rebooted in a few weeks. Maybe an update and reboot will solve. I know that the GPU client does not like all those settings changing.

OK, all looks good. It could be a simple thing like what you mentioned. Keep us posted with the results after the changes are made.

Update:

Updated to Catalyst 8.1.
Was already running 6.0 Beta 1
Seems to be running fine.

It seems to have gone away. I also think that ultramon is somehow causing the closure but have not figured out how as of yet. It seems to only occure when console is moved to monitors 2 or 3

If it happens again, will post about it

Great that it's working so far. Let us know if it gives you problems again.
