What's the beefiest GPU I can get before it's bottle necked by my i3 2100?

Say, 1080p resolution just for the discussion.

Yeah I think so, might want to wait till others chime in. And if there is a bottleneck, just do a little OCing.

i3's can't be OC'd, just curious as I'll be upgrading to a 2500k in a few months.

2105 here.

FWIW, in BF3 multiplayer, my 560 rarely sees 100 percent load normally its around 80ish. My i3's load is almost always above 95 percent. To be fair, this is at 1280 x 1024.

If you want feedback for a purchasing decision, if you wait until tomorrow, I'll be able to tell you how it performs at 1080 with both a 560 as well as a 560 ti 448.

Though if you're going to be upgrading the CPU anyway, just buy the graphics card you want, and deal with the i3 bottleneck. Its what I'm doing.

I was worried it was was going to be grossly bottle necked, but I guess not; Thanks for the info. :D

Depends on the game also. BF3 multiplayer, for example, is heavily CPU dependent even though it is also a graphics monster. Skyrim is another. Other games (like Metro 2033 or something) don't stress the CPU nearly as much.

As said, it highly depends on the game. Some games are CPU intensive, other games are GPU intensive. If you're planning on upgrading your CPU anyways, just get the GPU you want now.
