Alright, I'm starting a case made of wood, obviously. I am tired of the lack of small cases for full atx mobos, so I decided to make my own. It will be made of 3/8" hardwood and will hold 1 5.25" drive and 2 3.5" drives. Right now the project is on paper and I will be purchasing supplies and beginning my work this weekend.

Here are the plans:
Case Dimensions: 18" wide x 12" deep x 6" tall

Black are 80mm fans
Green is the PSU
Gray is the 3.5" cage
Blue is the 5.25" cage
Purple is the mobo

There will be updates anytime I work on this case, so stay tuned. My target cost for this entire project is $25, so be prepared to see some awesome ghetto mods.

the Silverstone Lascala LC14 case is almost exactly those dimentions, has 2 external and stealthed 5.25 drive slots and a 3 or 4 internal 3.5 drive slots. it's fucking bad ass and it fits a full-size ATX mobo. it's what i have for my main system.

but i love wood cases, so rock on. just thought you could get some ideas or something from it.

No doubt silverstone's rock, but that case is still too big to fit on my desk. It's 17.2" x 17" x 6.8" according to newegg. Plus its $160...I'll see if I can make something functional and pretty with my $25 budget.

Good band btw, boysetsfire. Going to the cabin tonight for some inspiration. :p

You might like to check out my wood sff worklog, it's in my sig, copy/paste the link.

I spent less than $25 for the case.

Not bad at all, silversierra. I'm going to stain mine a lighter color to match my desk (cheapo from staples).
