As far as I can tell from the published data an 8800GT or two in a Quad Intel running Vista is the best way to reap the biggest PPD out of one box for the least $$$.

But now those AMD boxes with an Nvidia GPU are also quite competitive.

And ever a P4 with a 8800GT can play with the big boys. That's some cheap folding my friends. Eventually the PPD will likely decrease, but for now, get them puppies folding.

Gamers are our new best friends, because that's where the GPUs are.
Fortunately Gamers are a big part of the heart and soul of [H].

If you've got an 8800 or better you've got around 5k per day, and that, my friends is some big-ass folding points.

Hell my laptop with a NVS 320m get's over 1k/day on the GPU alone.
