Does anyone have one of these? I've been looking for a table height tripod, and this thing looks pretty sweet:

I like the positioning possibilities, but I'd love to know if anyone has used one.

I have seen and played with them. But I would not trust that with any of my "L" lens..

They are sweet. the larger ones can hold a pretty good weight.

Holds 6.6 pounds. You aren't going to attach a huge 400mm to it, but a decent 70-200 f2.8 IS L would be fine, unless you have a ton of kit attached. I've used one and they are VERY sturdy.

The 30D is 784g or 1.73lbs and the 70-200 is only 3.3 pounds. Grip and extra battery wouldn't hurt either.

Oldie you will have to go in and put your kit on one and try it out. I never used one for a table top just attached to poles and in weird positions. Another thing you might want to consider a hot shoe level as well with one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/shop/4978/Camera_Body_Accessories_Hot_Shoe_Accessories.html

Cheers,

I have the kit with the Slik ball-head off B&H. I've only used it a handful of times so far, but I really bought it for my upcoming trip to Europe, where I hope to use it in locations where tripods might be prohibited. Fortunately, it is short enough (with the head off) to fit in my camera bag.
