Google Maps: Change Directions

If you are an avid Google Map user like I am, you’ll appreciate the new ability to change your route on the fly with a new drag and drop ability.

It might not sound like much given its dead simple interface, but the results are jaw-dropping — and very useful. Not only does this make plotting multi-stop trips and custom routes much easier, when coupled with the “traffic” maps it can help users find faster, less congested routes.

my GF told me about this last night. Came in pretty handy when a road she uses frequently was closed and google wanted her to go that way with its automatic routing.

Holy freaking crap. I just used this feature and I can't believe I was able to use online maps before this.

The street navigation software on my PPC has been able to do stuff like this for years.

Since you can already use GOOGLE maps on a PPC with a GPS, I think this is a move to make google maps more feature complete as a navigation package.

Think about it having a pure online navigation package would mean all the maps and city info would be as up to date as possible. Now combine this with the live traffic reports they offer in some cities and it becomes incredible.
