I have a 36 g raptor hd I had been using. Everything was fine w/ it. All of a sudden on startup's it kept doing checkdisk. Sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't. On reboots, no problem.

Then one day it just flashed up bad or corrupt file, do system repair. I don't have a sys. repair disk and previously during check disk, no files were corrupt.

It's like it just died. Does this sound like a dead hd?

use WD's disktools to do a diagnostic....that will give you the error code for an RMA.

but yes, it sounds like it could be a dead drive...

cheers,

dave
