Good proxy servers...

I think this is the right place to have this. I am looking for a good proxy server that filters out most bad stuff (ie: porn, sports, web mail, etc.). When i connect via the free government wifi it has such a proxy in place where you cannot get on say espn.com, hotmail.com etc.

The reason i am asking is we have this one intern at the office i work for where she has screwed up her workstation so bad that i have had to reformatt it twice within the last month. I know i should give her less rights, etc but i am a the low person on the tree here and am looking for a relatively simple fix to just stop her from visiting these sites. I have tried having her use Firefox, but every time i walk by she is using damn IE7.

Any help or recommendations would be great! thanks in advance.
 
Turn all the settings on High in IE7. She will get so frustrated that she will start using firefox :p

Still though, if she is doing stuff to really screw your PC up, most of that crud can come through firefox as well (its spyware, trojans, etc.).


Another thing to do is use a blocking hosts file. Many sites out there have hosts files you can download that have sites preblocked (and ads for that matter). This is one I have used before with great results:

Personally the best solution I have found for ease of use and protection on peoples machines is the hosts file. Does not seem to block any good sites and yet protects them from spyware and such.
 
Can anyone recommend a good proxy server? I want to set up one too at home for my server.
 
Clarkconnect in my experiences has been one of the easiest and most effective proxy setups. Just throw Clarkconnect onto a box and enable squid and dansgaurdian. Clean and simple, and also all done via a web based GUI.

It can also do a lot more than just proxy stuff FYI.
