Good mem for OCing

im looking for some good memory to OC with
i would like some that can reach 250Mhz stock or will OC the that
but not sure whats good i was looking at the XMS Pro line of PC3200
can that be OCed that high with lax timeings or is there better memory to get that high?

I would reccomend OCZ 3700 EB, which has superb timings at 250.

Well, on Newegg, from what i found, the OCZ Enhanced Latency PC3700, they only have 256MB sticks and they are $63 bucks, so that's around $252...which isn't bad

This isn't their "Enhanced Latency" but it has sweet latency, but it looks better than the EL ?? http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-843&depa=0

that should work for you, $278 for a gig of dual channel....

I'm running 2 X 256 MB sticks of OCZ PC4400 EL Gold in my IC7-G board at 275 fsb 1:1 and no problems at 2.5-4-4-8 timings. They also make 512 MB sticks of the same stuff too, but it's pricey. This is the first OCZ ram I've ever used, due to their shady past, but I'm impressed with this ram. I found it in the refurb dept at Newegg.

I went with PC4000 Crucial Ballistix since all the benchies I could find show the $10 more over Ballistix PC3200 is worth it.

I chose a K8N Neo Platinum
2 x 512MB Crucial Ballistix PC4000
still deciding between Athlon64 3000+, 3200+ and 3400+ (Newcastle 512k L2 cache). I'm leaning towards the 3200+ because the 3400+ is $100 CDN more, but doesn't give any better overclock on average. If I could find a CG stepped Clawhammer, I'd snap it up right away but all I can find are C0 Cludhoppers.

I can expect 2-2-2-5 timings at 200Mhz, (5104 PCMark04 score)
or 2.5-4-4-8 timings at 255Mhz. (5450 PCMark04 score)
I realize these tests were done on an Intel platform, but Anandtech has reported that these Ballistix memory modules perform just as well on AMD platforms (which is unusual).
