In my server, I currently have 3 HDs. A Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80GB (2mb cache) on PM, a Samsung 120GB (2mb cache) on PS, and a WD 120gb (8mb cache) on SM. There's a DVD/CD-RW drive on SM. I'm adding a 4th HD (WD 160GB 8mb cache) to the server, so now I need some sort of PCI IDE Controller. Since none of the HDs are the same, RAID0 or RAID1 are not in my best interests.
The server is mostly just a domain/file server, but even then, it's only supporting 10-15 clients. Should I put more HDs on the IDE Controller Card when I get one? or just put the "overflow" HDs on the card?
