Good HDTV?

No- it's 1080i, which is horrible for computer displays... for regular TV, yeah, it'll work. But I'd recommend finding a 720p display, if you choose to afford one.
 
1080p is few and far between right now. Almost nothing is filmed in 1080p at the moment. About the only thing can probably can is a computer.
 
It’s end of the year dumping time and that TV qualifies, everyone is blowing them out. As an HDTV, it’s ok for the price. Don’t forget, either get the stand or you need something to put it on. The center of the screen should be at eye height while you are seated. Since it’s CRT based your off angle viewing will be typical of that type set.

Nice low priced HDTV, not designed for computer use, as most TV’s aren’t.

I'd move up to 50" if possible. I don't care too much for anything less than that for a true home theater setup. I've got a Pioneer Elite 53" CRT and Panasonic 50" plasma. On the other hand 1K is a nice price. BTW, I think most (if not all) rear projection CRTs come with a stand that is intergrated with speakers.

Not to mention that to buy a 1080p HDTV you are paying an extreme, early adopter, premium for something which offers minimal gain at best, seeing as how nothing is filmed in 1080p as the above posted said.
