So, lately I've been thinking about going watercooling on my main system. What is a basic watercooling system that is cheap enough but has good enough cooling power to satisfy something in the range of Q6600 or E8400 with something 8800GTS or 9600GT? Not looking to spent a lot of greens, but one that will better than my air cooling.

TIA...

You're better off with air. Serious.

GPU: Accelero S1 + RAMsinks or Thermalright HR-03 ~$60
CPU: ZeroTherm Nirvana NV120 or Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme ($45-70)
So around $120 for high end air.

In comparison, water would be...

GPU:
$35-$40 D-Tek UniSink or iandh sink kit
$40 D-Tek Fuzion GPU block or Swiftech MCW60R block
or $90 Swiftech Stealth Fullcoverage
for GPU, $75+

CPU:
D-Tek Fuzion CPU block - $60
or Swiftech Apogee GT - $50
for CPU, $50+

Pump:
Swiftech/Liang D5 - $70

Radiator:
Swiftech MCR-320 QP - $50
3x Yate Loon low or mid speed 120mm fans - $15

Tubing: $20 Masterkleer 7/16" ID
use 1/2" barbs throughout (may need to pay $10-20 for barbs, most parts will come with barbs, but not all

Total for water: ~$300+
