2 computers, both running linux, with the same network card (intel gigE pci-e), connected via a netgear prosafe switch. For testing purposes they are currently not connected to anything else.
Both cards are properly detected, and ethtool shows them as both being set up as 1000MB/s speed, and the switch is lighting up as they are both gigE connections. Both are coming up as full duplex, etc etc etc.
But transfers are of typical 100mbps speed (3-4 MB/s), testing via iperf, scp, and ftp (proftpd).
What else can I do to cause this gigE hardware to actually run at gigE speeds?
