Gigabyte EasyTune 4: Does it work?

I'm using the older KT400 Motherboard from Gigabyte (GA-7VAX) with an AMD 2400+ Cpu on it. Anyways everything is running fine with the CPU idle temp of 31'C, and load temp of 33'C so I decided to take advantage of EasyTune 4 from one of the cd's provided by Gigabyte. I intstalled the program, and "overclocked" it to 2250 MHz, the only thing is that Windows XP doesnt recognize it running at 2250 MHz, and there is no difference if I play games with it (Halo, GTA: VC). I was just wondering if EasyTune actually works, and that if it does indeed work... How well does it?

Thanks

i have a gigabyte motherboard and tried the easy tune4 software a while ago but it didnt work for me. Just overclock from your BIOS

I have all but given up overclocking with a Gigabyte motherboard. I tried the easy tune thing and I don't think it ever really did anything. As far as overclocking from the BIOS goes that would be your best bet, however your options are limited to the FSB and some voltage settings. BTW I have the same mobo as you so...have fun!

when i had my 7VAXP KT400 and i tried ET4 it worked for sure...i dont think i'll ever forget the long nites of hitting the reset button after i kicked it up a tad to far =p

the only weakness i saw in that board was maybe the memory perf and the lack of a PCI/AGP lock...other then that the board was rock solid even @ 155FSB(up from 133 on my poor TbredA 2200+ =D)
