Giant Radiators

There's the KOYO racecar radiators you can find on eBay. A guy here used one for his setup. not sure how easy it would be to bolt onto the side though. I am sure TN will be along shortly to hawk her wares (Aiplex EVO 1800).

The Airplex EVO 1800 is pretty good. 15 120mm fans, and it should do the trick just fine.

Get a rad from a transport truck's power stearing (well that is after you clean it) and bolt that sucker to the side of your case.
Believe me, it can handle amount of computer heat you can shove at it.

That looks excellent, 3/8" tubbing will work with my Thermaltake 745 cooling system. It is a Condenser, will it do the work like a radiator? and will it work with Thermaltake 745?

Condensing, radiating, it is all the same. I would not know about how restrictive the condensor / radiator is though. Might not be so bad as it probably has no turbulators in the tubes.
 
Are you planning to run those radiators passively? Because even my double heatercore keeps the water pretty close to ambient with two 120mm fans.

If you're getting such an expensive radiator, you should probably get a great CPU block to match.

$29 is not expensive for that big radiator.

It all comes down to how much confidence you have in that pump. I don't know what it's specs are, but you have to remember that even if the radiator isn't very restrictive you're adding ALOT more 'tubing' to the system. From what I count, it's about 17 feet of extra tubing.

It certainly isn't. But it isn't a good radiator either. Notice what it's made out of: 'Continuous 3/8" OD steel tubing, steel fins and frame.'

It'll probably rust fairly quickly too :)
And do you know how many different kinds of metals are in steel besides iron?

I was about to ask what material it was contructed of. It says "copper core", but what the hell does that mean, exactly?

So that thing has steel in it?
 
With radiators at that size, one will need a much larger pump then? if one were to want a passive setup, will they need something that large in order for the idea of passive cooling to work?

o_o why not steal the thing from a broken air conditioner?

The condenser in a AC unit is filled with FREON gas. You might as well call up the EPA and turn yourself in if you were to do that.

Not to mention that it is under pressure and you could get yourself hurt or seriously frostbit.
 
Alright every one we need to find the best big radiator and cheapest possible. Please post links in this thread, if you find any.

Well, I just bought the 12"x 18" radiators off him. I might end up using 1 or 2 and selling whats left. I also asked a local HVAC place, and I might be able to give you guys a few good deals if you are interested.

That one fits 2 120's, whic hdoesn't really fit in with 'giant'.

My friend has connections to an auto place, so I may be obtaining a huge radiator. Like, a crysler cirrus. 16x24.
 
I heard alot about this 77 Bonneville Radiator, and people have been saying it is cheap. I could not find it any where less then $100.
Can some one please give me a link?

Quality comes at a price! If you guys would notice that a rad. will usually have upper and lower tanks. this is not a design defienciecy. A rad with tanks should not require as much head as a continuos loop condenser . Also a true rad has much better finns. installed to dissipatate the heat. The cheapest $$$$ does not = the best value.
