Well the Giant II was a great GPU cooler and a lot of people liked it and I was wondering if anyone has tried the Giant III and what do they think of it?

Every single review I have read said it was no better than stock cooling on most cards and it was loud and bulky. Hm.....

I'll be sure to look for reviews of the III though.
 
i only got it(giant II) so i could run silent using its passive cooling capabilities(since i sleep next to my computer in a dorm room, can't even hear my computer).

i thought it did OK. i could get slightly better OC's w/ stock cooling, i guess stock fan wasn't that loud, but lately i've been running stock speeds because i've had no time for games, it doesn't even feel that hot. Giant III doesn't look any better. If i were to go spend $20 again, i'd get the Silencer. i think its $20-$25 at most online places, and i've heard it does a better job. the giants are mostly eye candy.
 
? Hrm.. I've got a MSI 128MB Ti4200.
I got higher OCs after installing the GIant II.

I wouldn't get the III tho. Its so damn ugly.
Plus all these big heatsink type coolers just make problems with northbridge coolers.
 
it looks like they tried too hard
Thermal Take is trying to say "the bigger the better" when indeed the mechanics of the heat sink is what really matters...
 
Actually, if you want to sleep near your computer, make sure it's noisy. Because of the constant humming sound, you'll fall asleep really fast. The reason you don't fall asleep when you want to, is you're always thinking of something. With a noisy computer, your mind will be preoccupied with filtering out the noise :eek:
 
thermaltake SUCKS, except the silent boost, ive heard its pretty fancy. but the giant III and GIII extreme or whatever is just plain GAY. get a ZM80, thats $$ well spent.
