Ghost Image - Multiple files?

Tried Ghost for the first time with about 40 gigs of data. Imaged to another HD and when I look at the drive there's about 16 files making up my image, around 2 gig each. Is this normal? I thought it would be one huge file!
 
the reason for the 2 gig files is to allow the files to be read in a FAT partition. you can change this btw
