I got the wizard rotary tool a year back. Peice of junk can't do any cutting for more than 5 minutes with the battery. I was thinking of dropping the cutting bit into a corded drill i have around the house. Both are black and decker so thats sort of a match. Is there anything that could go wrong? Makes sense to me.
 
If it fits, then try it (I'm not responsible for any personal injury resulting from my comment).

So, its not only my cordless dremel that doesn't last 5 minutes (upgraded to a corded dremel)
 
Here's a tip, never buy anything cordless.

It'll work fine in a regular drill but will not be very easy to use.
 
A drill is no substitute for a Dremel. A drill is low speed high toque, a Dremel is high speed, low torque. Sure, a drill will accept the bits, but it would take DAYS to cut metal with a Dremel cutoff wheel chucked into a drill.
 
I use a pet nail grinder. Has the exact same bit system as a dremel (I even use dremel attachments on it), spins at 30k RPM, has a lifetime warantee and was only $10 :D
 
Cordless /shudder

I have the cordless dremmel and the corded one...the cordless never gets used.
 
I did it and its right. Low RPMs. Takes forever, VERY hazardous. Turns the metal into a fine cloud of cancer. Don't do it without proper protection. I need to quiet being cheap and get a nice "Dremel" kit. They look cool. Especially that wirey loopy tool that extends it for hand use, that amazes me. Looks semi-dangerous. Oh well.

I have a cordless dremel that I never use. I've thought about buying a AC adapter for it, that outputs something like 7.2 or 9.6v, or whatever the battery pack is rated for, and splice the AC adapter into the battery contacts on the cordless dremel. You should try that. I know it will work.

I bought a much nicer corded dremel, so left that idea behind..
 
Yeah I am about to buy raptors for raid 0 so I obviously can afford a good dremel it's just a matter of getting to the store anymore
