getting vpu errors with my 9800pro

using a HIS 9800pro 128 version... i've been running into random vpu error with the card. The card will play games fine, even doom 3, but when i leave my computer for a few hours and come back i'll sometimes find this error waiting for me.

Using the latest bios on mobo and I did bump up the volts to the card to 1.7v(i think) and it didn't help.

Using a full tower case with a blow hole, blowing on the card. Running the card stock, case is around 18C usually.

any ideas?
