I was wondering how do modders go about getting sponsored? I ask this because i have more fun building the setups an modding them an financially its impossible for me to buy all new parts build an then have it sit in the corner an if you try to sell a mod you cant even get near msrp of the parts. An while im ok at losing money in a hobby again its just not viable losing 1k a month trying to undersell stuff an find someone that just might like what youve built.

Git dem gud contacts or git dem good results/rep. That type of investment doesn't just come to those who ask.

Get out and network.

Modders get noticed by doing a number of things. I will list a few.

Go to Events. PDXLAN , GeForce LAN ( hasnt been one for 5 years now ) , PAX Prime now known as PAX west or any of the PAX's , Quakecon , Blizzcon , Dreamhack.... bring your mod. Get noticed. The reps frequent these LAN's and look for good modders.

Post your mods in various forums and include step by step pictures and write ups of your work. Do not post them in every forum known to mankind. 3 or 4 Max.

Social media can also help you get noticed. Youtube , Twitter , Instagram , Facebook ... etc. Make a Facebook page for your modding and post that info in your worklogs and people will start to follow you if you are good/interesting enough. It takes time to build up a fanbase. This will not happen overnight.

Most of the time it takes quite a bit of your own money to get noticed. Although I have seen some pretty amazing mods on shoestring budgets. Once you get multiple work logs with 10k plus views then forward that to the sponsors. I think Bit-Tech helps out modders with sponsorships but I can't remember.

DO NOT.... go to a sponsor with NO prior worklogs or anything to show. They get those requests a lot and most are ignored.

I don't even see a worklog that you have posted. The sponsored modders I see on here generally have insane skills and dedicated workshops just for fabbing and painting parts whether it's sheet metal, wood, or acrylic. Start by building something great I would say.

I am a huge fan of l3p's builds he posts on here, take a look through his work for some inspiration.
