I'm looking to roll over a few names here in the near future...Pocatello, Evil, you guys need to start pulling out the stops and get to folding again! ;) Get to ramping up for teh [H]orde...

What have you done?

Your PPD is massive!

I can feel the mower shaking the ground! I can smell the gasoline fumes!

^----- brings popcorn along from other smack talking thread

I've also been noticing that the "youngins" are staying out of these smack talking threads, not really anyone less than 4 years, and we're all on the top 100

Oh nothing.... I won't be in your neighborhood until around Christmas or so....;)

Plenty of time for the Fall/Winter ramp up.

Last year I cut my heating bill in 1/2 (my electric was a bit higher though ;)) Buy folding with everything I could get my hands on. I plan on doing the same once frost comes back.

Me thinks it will take longer to catch me than you think :D

Lucky you.

Last winter I had to keep the AC running to keep up with the computers. Electric consumption went down tho.

Hawaii and folding is not the best combination. Luckly the land lord pays electric, not me.

You know, I normally hate winter. But now that I'm folding, I can't wait! Then I can leave my computer on all night long to warm up the house!

I'm looking at a house with Ground Source heat/cooling. As long as I don't make myself house poor with it so I can still afford boxen I will be able to fold all year with very little summer penalty.

I am working my way up to the top 100. My brother's 8800GT borg will come back online when it gets cold out most likely. If anyone has a 48** card they want to let go of cheap I could populate my other slot in my main box.

I just finished mowing my lawn outside, and it reminded me that I needed to log in and check out the forums again.

One question for Capreppy though.

What happened man??? You were powering through the ranks, broke into the top 30 and then had a massive slowdown. Hopefully it isn't long term...

Went to work on 27th of July to Minneapolis, then straight to NYC with the wife. I apparently had a power outage while gone and two of my boxen did not come up gracefully. I restarted them while I was home for 2 hours on the 3rd of August before I had to get on a plane back to Minneapolis. Everything is back to normal at 65K PpD :D

Got me a 4850 from Ax the other day and got both 4890s and my 4850 folding together . All the GPUs are sitting up around 70-80C, but they should be fine. I guess I technically have room for 1 more single-slot 4850 in this rig. But I think that will bring up my temps some more.

Honestly, the power requirements of a 4850 aren't worth it for folding. A 55nm GTX260 uses about the same amount of power and puts out 4-5 times as many points. Now, you can't run one in the same system as your other ATI cards, but it is something to think about.

Ya. I know that the ATI cards got nothing on the green ones in terms of ppd/W or ppd/$, but I run them anyway. Different comments made on these and other forums lead me to believe they are doing different work units and in some cases larger more complex ones than what the nvidia cards can handle well. With the dollars and Watts I'm devoting to this machine I could probably be in the top 20-30 in ppd right now but I'm happy with my production as it is.

My production has normalized and I am sufficiently high enough it'll take you 26 months to catch up. I've got some breathing room :D
