Getting memory parity errors

Just turn off parity checking on memory. ;)

Remember that the memory test on startup does little more than test to make sure that the RAM is really there. Try something like memtest86 to do a more in-depth test of the memory.

Of course, it goes without saying that if you're running overclocked and/or using agressive memory timings, you should roll that back & see if it fixes things.

I ran memtest and got errors on test 5, but I hear that that happens on any stick cuz it found errors on both my sticks AND a brand new stick of crucial.

If memtest86 gives you an error then it is an error, it is a very effective test of stability (you should be able to run all the tests cycled through for a couple hours without problem)

If overclocking go back to stock speeds, if not overclocked try relaxing the memory timings. If you still have problems return the ram as defective.

If the RAM error is happening in the exact same spot using different types of memory, the DIMM slot on the mobo may be damaged.

I ran memtest for about 2 hours. on test 5 it found 20 errors on DIMM number one, and about 100 on DIMM number two. I then swapped out the stuff for good RAM and I got about 20 errors. I did all this testing in DIMM slot A.

May be a mainboard issue.
Got a fan on the northbridge?
is it running?
Check your voltages.

well, assuming that you don't have any whacked-out BIOS settings (just to be safe, you might wanna reset everything to defaults & run another set of tests) odds are the mobo is dying on you or the CPU is jacked; my money would be on the mobo.

That'd be my guess too. I don't have any weird BIOS setting due to the fact that the BIOS I am running is the POS Phoenix BIOS that came with the Asus Board
