I changed the hdd from my old laptop (dell latitude c540) which had an ATI Radeon 7500 mobile in it to another laptop (inspiron 4100) which has a geForce2go in it. Windows XP recognised the new video card and installed the basic drivers for it. After doing a windows update it updated my drivers to version 2.9.5.8. Now my laptop will not install the dets from the nvidia website. It copies the install files and goes through the install setup program then asks me to reboot. After rebooting the machine my video drivers stay the same.

My buddy has an Insipron 4100, exactly the same in and out as this one and he's running the newest drivers which gives him all the special features the nvidia cards can handle. What do I need to do in order to get the new dets installed?

I've tried to uninstall my current drivers and reboot then install. Each time I've tried to install I've disabled my Antivirus program. Now what?
