Geforce FX 5900 NEED HELP

Well i've had the card for about a month now. Its been running great but yesterday it started artifacting and locked my system up while i was surfing the net and when i try playing ut2004 it artifacts like crazy and if i am in it for like more than 15 sec it locks up. I tried to downclock alot but it won't even take the lower clock speeds. I haven't changed anything. Does anyone know my problem.
System is in sig.

Edit: Oh yeah my monitor keeps going on and off also but i know its not my monitor because i have my linux machine on a switchbox with it and its fine, I also changed my cpu and ram to stock also

Sounds like you overclocked it to high and burnt it out. I did that with my GF 4200. It would work, but in games it would lock up and artifact.

Why would it have worked flawlessly for the past 3-4weeks no lockups no artifacts temps never above 50*c and then all of a sudden be practically unusable

sounds like a perfect candidate for RMA my guess is there was some kind of temp spike that fired something. Send it back or get warranty service on it.

Did you recently upgrade to 56.xx drivers? I have had some problems with them and reverted back to 53.03

the 56.xx drivers are the only ones that run Battlefield Vietnam without any graphical glitches, unfortunately.

i have a 5900XT and have been running fine for the last few days with the 56.xx drivers. OC'd to 506/800.
