ok, i finished my dimond plate front pannel. Well not finished, but cut, welded and bent into palce...now it need somethign still... im thinking a pair of gauges... like a tac! If there anythign cool i can do to make use of them otehr than jsut looks? Like HDD activity? or even better CPU LOAD temp....anything...and guides? how toos?

NEED LINKS...

BTW: had some beer s with the guys tonight, my hands are numb, not drunk just tipsey...sorry for spelling...

seen VU meters, don't have time for links right now, but do a search, they look pretty cool... if you run any audio through them

There is a CPU usage meter that uses a tach.

Try the oddball modding stores like Directron, or SVC, or somewhere like that.

i knwo where to get gauges....

How to make the work fo PC like thinks?

Why not just mod a Cooler Master Musketeer? I do know what your talking about and I have seen some examples of mods but I'll have to go hunting for links. :)

Yea i saw that thing, but im not really into premod stuff, id liek to make it my self and use my own hand picked gauge...

Im thinking, i could do a volt meter, I could get a sinal anolog volt gauge, 0:say 15v, then multiple postion dial switch with say.....5-7 points, the just hook up my 12v, 5v, 3.3v, mabey a wire going to a voltage check point on the main baord for CPU, and a check point on my GPU...so i can jsut turn the dial and check diffrent volts... Then of couse go crazy with some LED backlights, mbey a diffrent color dependign on what line im reading...

This way i can have a finctional gauge, and i dont need to use a com port and software to do it.

Here is a project on Bit-tech that used a cars speedo in the mod...he goes into some detail, might give you an idea for what to look for.

i saw a guy who put a router or something in an old radiation detector on here, i think it was in the casemod forum.

the gague on the thing moved with either his power or router activity or something, it was cool as hell.

So try this one instead: http://www.xoxide.com/pctacsof.html

It'll let you take a tach you supply, and give you an explanation on how to convert it, plus give you the software to make it work, just the same as their pre-modded tach.

Hey, thanks for the info, only took me 5 mins to find that software on a "p2p" i use, along with the instruction to make it. Why are they sellign that? i dont even liek the software im going with a 3rd party freware i found..

Gauges? You want gauges? We don't need no stinkin gauges!

er, that was badges. Definitely the bit-tech tutorial - or get some parts from the premods posted already.

I cant seem to find where he tells how hes gonna make the dial move? or dose he?

I have a meter on my machine that I'm currently using to display
the terrorist threat level. It updates every six hours, and
gets the data off http://www.dhs.gov/dhspublic
I have three more meters, but I've been having a hard time
wiring them up. Basicly, they display amps, and my D/A converter
generates a variable voltage level, so I have to run a resistor
in parellel across the meter's leads. The problem is finding
the right value resistor to make the range of voltages my
computer can generate (not very much) match the range of amps
the meter can display (not very much).
I also have a bunch of digital outs, which I wired up to relays
and control various external devices. I have "new mail" indicator
lights, stuff like that.
I bought my interface box from these guys: http://www.prairiedigital.com/
