I miss my macbook. Is there anything similar to garageband where I can drag and drop loops and have musical typing and whatnot?

I don't know.. I don't use it, I just did a quick 2 second google search for "garageband for windows" when I saw you're post. It was the first link...

ok, when you say musical typing do you mean like typing keyboard functions as midi keyboard? cause almost any modern audio production suite can do that.

if that's the case, i would recommend FL Studio to cut your teeth on since garage band is pretty easy mode.

or op could just man up and jump right into renoise ;)

if any of you decide that you want flstudio, pm me, i've got 10% off at the image-line store.

renoise is only for the hardest of core

if i wanted to use a hexidecimal tracker i'd bust out my atari st from the closet =P

actually for the price renoise is a pretty killer app, but i agree, it's a bit overboard when it comes to productivity.

let me tell ya i've been in the digital audio production game for quite some time

and every time i open my copy of renoise

my eyes glaze over and roll into the back of my head

was that a poem?

Anyway, the guy said something like Apple's Garageband... or did you all not read the OP.

really look at all like this?:

yes, I read the OP

however without OP's clarification on wtf he means by "musical typing" we're at a standstill here

I already suggested FL Studio and the other guy chimed in that he can get him 10% off from the webstore

don't know what your issue is, got a backseat modding complex?

Garageband has a virtual keyboard (the piano type, not PC.. lol) that you can use you're PC keyboard to play. Kinda hard to explain.

i was thinking that's what they meant

FL Studio certainly does that as well as drag and drop loops

i see lines, and an interface, and something regarding music, and midi.

so yeah

edit: as for the computer-keyboard to piano-keyboard translation, renoise does it too, that's how it got brought up.
