Gamma Correction

This may be have addressed already, but I haven't found a solution anywhere. With both my 9800 and 9600 the gamma and brightness levels from desktop to full screen 3-d always drop to almost completely dark. I've tried with drivers from 4.5 to 4.9. One system is an athlon 2600+, the other an athlon 64 3000+.

Forgot to mention. The games that have been severely affected have been CS, CS:S, UT 2004, and the Doom 3 demo. I've found a work around by running the games in a separate window, but that creates other problems.

Any ideas?

Does it reset to default or does it actually go darker and below the driver default?

If you're using the original ATI drivers, go into your regedit (startmenu > run> type "regedit" then search for the string, "gsettingcontrol" and change all the values of 2 to 0. Then close when all of them are done and restart. Your settings should be saved. If you have any questions, let me know.

My question now is did it work.... I just bought an ATI 9600 All In Wonder .... I have an AMD 2500 Barton.. SO pretty close to what Furie has..... Furie did it work etc..?

It's always worked for me and many others. Try it out. It won't ruin anything on the system. At worst it could break the gamma and you would have to reinstall the drivers.

It still sets it to something else for me, still very dark but not as dark.
