Hi I'm in the market for a new monitor, coming from a CRT I will be looking for good image quality. I do alot of gaming, and do photoshop and after effects. My budget is $200-250. And I don't want CRT suggestions please I already have one, and I want an LCD.

A lot of people like the Samsung 712x, and is getting to be down to about $200 these days. I'm in your same boat, and I think I'll get a 712x for lans as well as a second monitor that doesn't take up so much room. I'll post a comparison review between my 997DF and the 712x or whatever lcd I get once I've played some games on the lcd for a while.

I believe that Samsung is also the company that has the awesome dead pixel policy...
