I havent kept up to date with headphones, but after just one year my sennheiser PC350 have gone to shit. The gloss faux leather coating on the foam has started to peel and roll back.....the under side is sticky like glue, so wearing them basically glues them to my head/hair.
I really enjoyed these headphones, and I respect sennheiser for many great products, but this is crazy to have this kind of issue after just a year. Silly me, I never kept the receipt....despite them being not cheap.

So whats the goto headset with a boom mic in the $200 range?

My gaming headphone are Sennheiser HD555, open back, hooked up to a Schiit Asgard amp and Asus Essence STX sound card. The essence has a game mode preset that makes it just phenomenal. My sound is clear and very directional. Only thing I could imagine making it better would be to get rid of the Essence STX and pick up a Schiit Bifrost DAC.
