Ok, so i have a plantronics headset, which ive been using for around a year. I use the mic as well as the headphones daily, and they were both working perfectly fine last night before i went to sleep. I go to school the next morning, i come home, and now i can still hear audio but i cant use my mic. I dont have a soundcard, i just use the onboard sound on my mobo which is Realtek AC97 Audio. I tried reinstalling the drivers for these and still the mic hasnt worked.

IF you have any idea they would be greatly appreciated.

another mic does work, but its an old crappy mic and i wanna figure out how to get my headset working again if possible.

I dont see any reason why it shouldnt be working.

time to take apart the headset... my guess is you've got a solder weld that happened to fall off.

yup... just pull it apart... but be sure you can get it back together again.

look for a wire that's hanging loose that shouldn't be... then figure out where it should go... then re-solder it.
