Im going to buy G2410 for my desktop work and it comes with dull plain stand. There are nice dell stands come with 2408WFP sold in separately in ebay for like $25.
Anyboday knows if that stand of the 2408WFP or similar tilt stand fits with G2410?
The Dell stands like the 2408WFP comes with are not standard VESA mounts. They're a Dell hook/notch setup that goes over the VESA screw pattern. They've been pretty similar for a number of years, but have changed a little over time. Generally, they have two tabs at the top of the mount that slide into notches in the monitor. The bottom then swings in and has a spring-loaded latch to hold it in. I believe the latch part (indicated by the release button) is generally on the monitor, but some might have it in the stand instead. The stand from my 2007WFPb at work looks exactly the same as the one on the 2408WFP's product page, though the 24" might have a stronger spring (to support more weight) and a taller stand (to allow for rotation of the bigger monitor).
The G2410 looks a little different on the back. I can't tell from the pictures if the other stands will just snap into it or not.
You can see the mounting plate on the E-Flat Panel Stand. It's about the same size as a VESA mount, but it will not work with any old VESA monitor. One reviewer states that it is, but I don't see how that's possible unless you add screws and run them through holes in the plate, which I believe would require removing the plastic over it. It's designed for a Dell LCD to snap onto it, not to mount with VESA screws.
